Vietnam Pediatric Association (VPA) was established in 1961 as a non-profit organization to promote knowledge, training, and continuing medical education about pediatric diseases. By the history of 50 years of operation and development, VPA has functioned by thousands of members from various regions of Vietnam and become one of the leading organizations with a strong reputation in the field of pediatric diseases in Viet Nam.
One of the main missions of VPA is cooperating and sharing knowledge with other specialist departments and pediatric associations in Vietnam, ASEAN and all over the world. VPA annually holds various symposia related to pediatrics for training and continuous education such as Meningitis, Protecting Infant’s Brain, Pediatric Liver, Digestion & Nutrition, Emergencies and Procedures in Pediatrics. In 2009, VPA’s research works about “Initial Results of Application of Laparoscopic Splenectomy Surgery to Treat Some Blood Diseases in Children” was presented at 7th Vietnam-Australia Pediatric Conference and 4th ASEAN Pediatric Surgery Conference in Hanoi, Vietnam.
